EEA and Norway Grants

EUR 21,6 mill. available for green industry innovative projects in ROMANIA

Programme objective: Increased competitiveness of green enterprises, including greening of existing industries, green innovation and green entrepreneurship (Fonduri proiecte - finantare nerambursabila - pentru cresterea competitivitatii intreprinderilor "verzi").

Open call: Individual Projects Scheme (EUR 200,000 - 1,500,000) and Fund for Bilateral Relations (Travel Support Facility and Project Development Fund).

Co-financing of projects:

- Grant rate for private enterprises normally not more than 50 per cent for SMEs, less for large enterprises (Fonduri proiecte - finantare nerambursabila de maxim 50% pentru IMM-uri, mai putin pentru intreprinderile mari).
- Grant rate for NGOs maximum 90 per cent (Fonduri proiecte - finantare nerambursabila de maxim 90% pentru ONG-uri).
- The Applicant (and/or partner) must provide the remaining financing.


Who can apply?

- Romanian private enterprises can apply for all schemes
- Romanian NGO's can apply for Small Grants Scheme and Fund for Bilateral Relations
- Norwegian entities can apply for Fund for Bilateral Relations only

Application for Individual Projects and Small Grants Project:

All projects support shall meet the Programme vision: Good for business and for environment. The Programme can provide co-financing for Individual Projects related to development and implementation of activities within the enterprise applying for funds. Private enterprises are the only target group. The Small Grants Scheme target initiatives aiming at developing and implementing eco-innovative business development. NGOs, micro and small sized enterprises are the targeted groups. Only Romanian entities are eligible applicants, but partnerships with Norwegian entities are very much encouraged. A draft Partnership Agreement needs to be signed between the partners, prior to submitting an application.
